Job Description

We are seeking a professional and highly organized Administrative Assistant/Receptionist to join our team at Benton House of Decatur. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of our office.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests, clients, and employees in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls, taking messages when necessary.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, mail, and packages.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory by placing orders and verifying deliveries.
  • Perform general office duties, including filing, onboarding, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Support team members with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and foster collaboration among staff.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Friendly, approachable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with office management systems and procedures.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and office equipment
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role is an advantage.
