Role Overview :
The Business Systems Analysis Team is the tip of the spear for Digital Transformation at INDOT, leading efforts alongside business subject matter experts. Team members are expected to demonstrate senior-level executive presence, credibility, and trust, with the ability to deliver expert solutions for business, IT, and data. They must possess exceptional communication skills and the enterprise-level capability to plan solutions that align with agency strategic goals. This role requires a rare combination of expert-level skills, including deep knowledge of specialized business areas, IT business analyst expertise, and software development lifecycle experience.
The Business Systems Analyst works at the agency enterprise level to complete IT and data systems analysis, reporting directly to the Systems Analysis Manager on the Digital Transformation Team. Responsibilities include cultivating and managing business relationships to identify and implement technology and data solutions, serving as the business relationship manager for specialized areas, and providing strategic guidance for organizational change. The analyst also develops strong relationships with IT and data practitioners, including the Data Governance Manager, IT Project Managers, and QA Testers, to create detailed requirements and translate between business needs and technical solutions. A key focus of this role is reengineering systems to improve quality and efficiency, breaking down silos across business areas, and planning for interoperability of INDOT systems, data, and processes as part of a large-scale integration effort. The position requires documenting requirements clearly to prevent gaps or assumptions, planning advanced enterprise integrations, conducting research and strategic planning within governance frameworks, and contributing to digital transformation strategy. Additionally, the analyst manages expectations across stakeholders, helps lead cultural change, follows and promotes governance standards, and may stand in for the Systems Analysis Manager when needed.

Salary :
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $70,122.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.
