Job Description

Position Summary

This position performs diagnostic cardiac sonography examinations and cardiology procedures to provide data for diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with all applicable standards, regulations, and licensing requirements.

Education

• Graduation from a CAAHEP or ACCSC accredited cardiac sonography program or equivalent. (Required)

Experience

• Pediatric cardiac sonography clinical externship or two years full time adult cardiac sonography. (Required)
• 1 year full time pediatric cardiac sonography. (Preferred)

Certifications

• ARDMS RDCS-Pediatric (RDCS PE) or CCI Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) or obtained within 1 year of moving into position. (Required)
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)

Special Skills

• Shares on call duties with peers after hours, on weekends and holidays and works independently in satellite locations when skillfully able. (Required)
• Demonstrates a willingness to be flexible with work assignments to balance work amongst staff. Must have readily available transportation to be able to change locations throughout the day for roving assignments with very little notice. (Required)
• Ability to maintain a positive professional demeanor in stressful situations and represent Phoenix Children?s in a positive way in all interactions. Demonstrates a willingness to create relationships that inspire trust and loyalty and have the best interest of patient and team at heart.
  Ability to communicate professionally and effectively. (Required)
• Must influence a safe and respectful work environment. (Required)
• Can effectively balance multiple priorities and workload to achieve desired results. (Required)
