• NYC Health + Hospitals - Gouverneur Skilled Nursing Facility - 227 Madison St, Manhattan, NY 10002 (Lower East Side)

  Job Description:

• Assist with and provide physical care to residents according to established standards of performance.
• Performs and records assigned procedures and nursing care activities completely and skillfully, such as BP, TPRs, heights, weights, changing simple dressing, feeding, and other related nursing duties.
• Maintains the environmental conditions and practices to ensure comfort, safety, and security for residents’ property.
• Demonstrates safety awareness and follows protocol for fire, disaster, infection control, and other environmental care practices.
• Maintains knowledge and skills through participation in conferences and planning for patient care. Attends all mandatory classes.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Demonstrates a sensitive and supportive attitude towards the resident, family, and/or significant others.
• Assists in recreational and rehabilitation activities designed to meet the assessed needs of residents. Supervises residents during field trips.
• Report observations of patients’ and families’ mental state and social behavior to medical and professional staff caring for patients and participate in the assessment and/or care of patients and families.

This position does NOT perform EKGs. This position does NOT utilize phlebotomy skills.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Assignment to a long-term care facility requires a New York State Nurse’s Aide Certificate.
