Your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will include working as part of a team to advise clients seeking federal funding for healthcare technology projects, project manage the process of developing a funding request, draft the funding request using input from different stakeholders, and contribute to solving complex problems as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and apply relevant environmental factors to define and assess options and help make recommendations to clients on an overall federal funding strategy and plan. Environmental factors will include legislation, policies, and guidance, existing and planned New York State (NYS) healthcare technology initiatives, and initiatives from other states.
  • Facilitate client and stakeholder meetings to present federal guidance and impacts to the current federal funding strategy, gather input for and feedback on draft funding requests, and assist the team with developing approaches for the client on how to maximize and plan for the long-term maintenance of their federal funding.
  • Draft and review funding requests, including narrative, budget, schedule, and necessary compliance documents.

About you:

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and strict deadlines.
  • Ability to understand scope and budgetary requirements.
  • Ability to research and summarize regulation, legislation, policy, and other state/federal guidance.
  • Ability to develop and manage meaningful relationships with colleagues and clients through collaborative thinking and a customer focus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Experience interacting with executive level management and presenting information in a way that is relevant to different audiences.
  • Experience with NYS Medicaid and healthcare technology projects.
  • Familiarity with grant writing, advance planning documents, and/or the acquisition of federal funding to support health and human services.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.

The pay range for this position is $60,406.00 to $82,959.80 per year.
