Job Title : Dishwasher / Prep Cook

Supervisor(s) : Cafe Manager + Head Chef

Working Conditions : Part-Full Time 

Working Days : Variables

Hours per Day: 4 hours (min)  Hours per Week: 20 (min) | 40 (max) 

Wage: $16.35/hr + tips

Travel Required: No

Must commit to weekend shifts. Must maintain an average of four shifts per week. 

Ideally can work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Purpose

The Opening Baker position is responsible for the production and baking of all cafe pastries. The position will also be responsible for light prep work for bakery items. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Assembling any catering platters
• Putting away stock/inventory/ingredients
• Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen and workspace
• Ensuring products are well stocked, organized, and FIFO’ed 
• Keeping the cafe + studio spotless. The cleanliness of our space is directly dependent on our efforts. We encourage constant and regular wipe-downs, even during the busiest of times. Working in a messy area significantly decreases our efficiency. Please always clean up after yourself and work as a team. 
• Maintain supplies of paper towels, toiletries, tissue paper, soap etc. 
• Replenishing the condiment station and keeping this area neat and orderly 
• Maintaining a clean, professional appearance
• Contributing to the team atmosphere by learning from your teammates
• Perform routine kitchen tasks.
• Follow the prep list created to plan duties.
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
• Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
• Undertake basic cooking duties
• Clean Dishes
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
• Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities : No

Decisions within Power: 

• Assess studio needs and create a self-starting task list

Decisions that would require Approval: 

• Provide free or discounted products and services
• Guarantee customer requests
• Custom / Catered orders for food and drink

Prior Work Experience

• Customer Service experience preferred
• Food service experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Ability to learn and become proficient in the following applications: 
• Square POS
• Slack

Physical Demands

• Lifting of boxes between 5-30 pounds
• Working 4+ hours on your feet
• Crouching, stooping, or kneeling to stock or retrieve inventory or clean
• Working in warehouse during warm/cold weather
• Fine motor skills
