Job Description and Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Training and Resources Manager, a Staff Services Manager I, the EEO Training Coordinator will assist in  developing and carrying out the department's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of its work. The objective of the  internal EEO Program is to promote and enforce equal employment opportunity for all applicants, employees, and individual with whom department  staff interacts to ensure a work environment free of discrimination. The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of the  department's EEO Director's Policy and Deputy Directives and Equity Statement, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Fair Employment and  Housing Act, Government Code, Code of Federal Regulations, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion principles. Travel may be required.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Governmental Program Analyst exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Working Conditions

Position located at 1820 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento 95816.

This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent. 

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Special Requirements

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS: A completed State Application form (STD 678) and written Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) are  required for an applicant to be considered for an interview. The SOQ must be in narrative form (no bulleted content and not a resume) and  tailored to the specific position rather than a general summary of your good qualities. The SOQ should be no longer than two pages, single  spaced, and written in 12-point Arial font. Responses must be numbered and include the SOQ questions:

1. Describe how your knowledge, skills, and abilities make you the best candidate for this position.

2. Describe your experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual platforms, or other technologies to deliver enterprise-wide  training. How have you ensured accessibility and inclusivity in digital training environments?

3. Equity training development often involves working with diverse stakeholders, including leadership, employee resource groups, and external  experts. Provide an example of how you collaborated with others to design or enhance a training program.
