Want to protect our ocean, wetlands, and other aquatic resources in sunny San Diego? Join the San Diego Water Board’s Wetland and Riparian Protection Unit (WRPU). The position is located at 2375 Northside Drive, Suite 100, San Diego.

Under the close supervision of the Wetland and Riparian Protection Unit (WRPU) Supervisor and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments.

Special Requirements

3. Experience using scientific analytical methods.
4. Leadership experience.

Statement of Qualifications

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted along with the State Application and serves as documentation of candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. It should be typed, no more than two (2) pages in length, using Arial size-12 font , and normal margins.

Explain your experience and/or knowledge of the following:

1. Stream and other aquatic systems and processes, including hydrologic, geomorphic, geologic, and biological.
2. Stream and wetland compensatory mitigation and restoration techniques.
3. Environmental scientific investigations, research, surveys, and evaluations related to aquatic systems.
4. The local, state, and federal aquatic resource permitting processes in California, including the Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act and Clean Water Act Sections 401 and 404.
