A prominent provider of high-quality construction materials in the United States is currently seeking an Equipment Operator to join its team at the Chase Quarry in Middle River, MD. This role involves the operation and configuration of various heavy machinery, ensuring optimal performance and conducting regular maintenance and quality checks.

Key responsibilities include the safe and efficient operation of equipment such as loaders, excavators, and bulldozers, as well as performing daily inspections and basic maintenance tasks. The Equipment Operator will also be responsible for transporting and stockpiling aggregates while adhering to safety protocols and collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations.

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have experience operating heavy equipment, and be prepared to work in challenging outdoor conditions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety standards.

Requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  
• Field of Study Preferred: N/A
  
• Required Work Experience: Experience operating heavy equipment, including but not limited to skid steers, loaders, excavators, and backhoes.
  
• Travel Requirements: 25%-50% of the time 
  
• Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
  
• Ability to work in harsh outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and varying weather.
  
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) and OSHA regulations.
  
• Ability to pass a 7-year criminal background check, including felonies and misdemeanors.
  
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen as required for the role.
  
• Good physical condition to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials, as well as stand, bend, and work in physically demanding environments.
  
• Basic understanding of quarry operations and material handling processes (loading, unloading, and transporting aggregates).
  
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, taking direction from supervisors and collaborating with coworkers.
  
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
