Full Stack Software Engineer, Early Career Location Remote in Carlsbad, CA : About us: One team. Global challenges. Infinite opportunities. What you'll do: Full stack software engineers contribute to the implementation, support and maintenance of software systems that ingest, distribute, and visualize data from all systems in the company. The role focuses on develop field operational solutions with near real time monitoring needs of onboard and ground-based systems. They will provide solutions that ensure business and technical customers have access to the data they need to make educated decisions. The day-to-day: The role is for a Full Stack Software Engineering role that will work with other data and onboard software engineers locally and remotely as part of a data products development team. The team expects that the engineer contributes to the development of front-end, backend, database, and infrastructure solutions to enhance mobility business reporting requirements and expand our system management platforms. Software developed goes through modern CI/CD testing and deployment processes to deploy rapid changes to our production systems.

What you'll need: Education Requirements:
• Completion of Bachelor's degree or higher between May 2023-August 2025 in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related subject area
Additional Requirements:
• Hands-on development experience with Typescript/JavaScript and Python
• Experience using a web based front-end framework, either Angular or React
• Comfortable with relational databases and writing database queries in SQL
• Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) development processes
• Knowledge of Linux or another Unix based operating system
What will help you on the job:
• Experience with GitHub Actions
• Hands-on experience writing REST interfaces
• Familiarity with analysis of systems requirements, identifications of gaps, and advise on implementable solutions
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud-based infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and other networking concepts
• Previous Viasat internship experience
Salary range: $83,500.00 - $132,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $104,000.00- $156,000.00/ annually : At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
