Position Description

IAMACF Community Health Clinic Coordinator

The Indian American Medical Association (IL) Charitable Foundation, Chicago, IL, seeks to contract a part-time Clinic Coordinator for its free community health clinic at 2645 W. Peterson Avenue, Chicago. The Clinic Coordinator is responsible for coordinating many of the clinic's activities, including opening/ closing the clinic, patient check-in and registration, supporting the activities between volunteer physicians and medical students, utilizing the clinic's online electronic medical records (EMR) system, collecting client demographic information, assisting the clinic's Medical Director compiles monthly client services, demographics, assisting with specialty clinics, and helping implement the clinic's current programming and services. The clinic's hours are Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Additional requirements and/or responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Basic knowledge of 501©3 non-profit services provided by community-based service organizations and free community health clinics.

· Experience coordinating and utilizing volunteer resources, as needed, to help improve the clinic’s operations capacity.

· Present programmatic and services data to the Medical Director, Executive Director, and IAMACF Board.

· Coordinate volunteers, including medical student services and non-medical volunteers.

· Evaluate the capacity and effectiveness of clinic administrative processes of service delivery and make recommendations to the Medical & Executive Directors so that changes can be made to improve the clinic’s operations.

· Help implement new program & administrative processes, in consultation with Medical and Executive Directors, when the clinic acquires new grant funding.

· Be able to evaluate and work within clinic policies and procedures to ensure that the clinic complies with local, state, and federal guidelines, including medical and non-profit standards.

· Ability to work on your own and perform other duties as assigned.

· Language fluency in Hindi, Gujarati, or Urdu is a plus but not required.

Qualifications & Technical Skills Required

· An associate’s degree is a minimum requirement.

· Must be a certified medical assistant.

· Have good verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be knowledgeable in computers, have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs like Word and Excel, and have experience and familiarity with using the Internet.
