We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer Manager for our XXX, XX Plant!

Position Summary:

Essential Duties:

  • Manage a team of technicians responsible for maintaining and supporting the operation of high-volume manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Support production by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with manufacturing equipment.
  • Lead the design and implementation of new equipment installations and upgrades.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.
  • Manage projects and Capex work as required.
  • Develop, implement, and keep up to date Standard Operating Procedures and Risk assessments for all relevant activities.
  • Ensure production hours are always covered by maintenance.
  • Ensuring that machinery, systems, infrastructure, and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime.
  • Responding to major equipment breakdowns.
  • Using a CMMS system, undertake predictive, preventative and planned maintenance.
  • Setting and tracking maintenance KPIs, reporting as required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as required.
  • Develop and maintain a spare parts inventory to support preventative maintenance and repair activities.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing environment, preference with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies, including automation, robotics, and control systems.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and driving change.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in budgeting and project management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in supporting production and maintaining equipment is essential.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical operations
  • Must be able to speak and understand written English.
  • Must understand technical and mechanical language.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be highly proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook.

  • Maintenance engineer can expect to work 40+ hours a week. Although, on occasion, they could be asked to work well outside business hours (on weekends, public holidays, etc.). For better or worse, overtime work is a shared reality for all maintenance staff.
  • Maintenance engineers in plants and facilities that run their operations 24/7 may have to work shifts that cover nights, weekends, and early mornings. The pace of work can vary and will often spike when there is a push to meet production deadlines or to quickly resolve breakdowns.
