Job Description

The Maintenance Technician/Mechanic shall be skilled in more than one field of maintenance such as burning, automotive mechanics, painting, welding, carpentry, pipe fitting, machinist work, refrigeration, millwright work.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Perform all preventative maintenance duties on equipment.
• Continually monitor machinery and make necessary adjustment(s) to ensure proper operation.
• Repair and possible fabrication of equipment and parts.
• Regular use of heavy industrial shop tools and equipment.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with co-workers and management.
• Support other maintenance activities as well as additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Capable of reading blueprints and laying out jobs
• Computer skills – requires the use of office computers
• Must demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and analyze causes of equipment failures and recommend solutions to problems
• Effective written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are critical
• Ability and willingness to work call-ins and scheduled maintenance overtime to meet the needs of business; Including being able to stay for needed maintenance work with very short notice in unforeseen circumstances
• Self-motivated & able to work independently
• Previous experience working in a chemical plant or similar environment preferred
• High School Diploma/GED
