Job Summary:

About the Role & Team

The Online Digital Marketing team for Lucasfilm produces short-form video content for our franchises to be released on the official websites, YouTube channels, social media channels, and more. We work primarily on fan-focused marketing for all departments including live-action films/series, animation, parks, consumer products, games, publishing, and more! If selected for this role, you will report to the Senior Producer Digital Marketing.

What You Will Do

We are looking for a production generalist who not only has a passion for all things Star Wars but also has the video/image editing skills to create exciting new content as well as an understanding of the current landscape of social media in order to create content that is trendy, authentic, and fan-focused!

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to perform basic video edits and exports such as clip pulls from various existing Star Wars IP (movies, television series, etc.)
  • Perform assistant editing functions such as building timelines and creating video compilations of various characters, places, and things
  • Able to pick up a camera, light, boom pole (up to 50 pounds), operate a teleprompter, or provide any type of additional physical production support
  • Maintain a studio and gear room ensuring all equipment is labeled and organized in a logical way
  • Use Content Management Systems to perform content edits and image refreshes on various Lucasfilm Online website platforms
  • Conduct detailed quality control on all delivered content
  • Perform general office support functions
  • An understanding of social media platforms
  • Ability to occasionally work nights and weekends as well as travel for shoots as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of camera systems and other physical production equipment
  • Knowledgeable in multiple software pieces in the Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on Premiere Pro and Photoshop
  • Extensive knowledge of Star Wars with other Lucasfilm/Disney products

Education

Undergraduate students in their junior or senior year (or recently graduated within the past six months) pursuing a bachelor's degree in multi-media, video production, film or other multi-disciplinary media field or related field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2024 through August 2024
  • Able to be fully available for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the San Francisco, CA area or in Burbank, CA.
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
