This role is pivotal in delivering an exceptional fine dining experience. The Polisher is responsible for ensuring all tableware, including silverware and glassware, is polished to perfection and readily available for service. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the restaurant’s fine dining presentation by ensuring that all items meet the highest cleanliness and quality standards. Additionally, the Polisher assists in restocking silver and glassware to support smooth service operations.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

  • Polish and inspect all silverware, glassware, and tableware to ensure pristine quality before service.
  • Restock silverware and glassware in designated stations, ensuring servers and bartenders have necessary supplies at all times.
  • Handle all tableware with care to prevent damage and maintain fine dining standards.
  • Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and back-of-house staff to ensure timely replenishment of polished items.
  • Monitor and report damaged or worn tableware that needs replacement.
  • Ensure polishing stations and storage areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Follow all sanitation and safety protocols when handling and storing tableware.
  • Assist in additional back-of-house tasks as needed to support restaurant operations.
  • Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and laws including health and safety standards.
  • Foster a guest-focused environment, delivering a consistently outstanding hospitality experience.

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
  • Possess a current Food Handler’s and TABC certification before starting work.
  • Previous experience in an entry-level role in a fine dining or upscale casual environment is a plus but not required.

Work Environment :

  • Working during evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate peak dining hours.
  • Occasional exposure to loud noise levels and varying temperatures, particularly when moving between the dining area and kitchen.
  • Handling guest requests or issues in real-time, which may require quick problem-solving and adaptability.
  • Collaborating with a diverse team of front-of-house and back-of-house staff in a structured yet flexible atmosphere.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for periods of up to eight (8) hours.
  • Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds at a time. Required to use assistance when available i.e. hand trucks, ramps, or another team member.
