Get started in our shuttle van driver role, so that you can be a part of our next CDL training class! TransWest offers current team members paid training to get their Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement or add a Passenger Endorsement to a current CDL license, so that you can grow your career as a bus driver. We start a new training class every month!

To qualify for our CDL training program you need to have or be able to obtain a DOT medical card (we will help you get it), have a minimum of 6 months of professional driving experience and be able to work full-time on a Monday through Friday split shift schedule. We have openings at our Seattle and Everett bus yards.

In order to obtain a CDL permit from the department of licensing you will need an approved document that shows proof of citizenship, permit residency or a non-domicile document.

Shuttle van drivers start off at $21 an hour while driving on our shuttle van routes and while going through our paid CDL training program. Drivers receive a $6.50 an hour pay increase after completion of our paid CDL training program.

Responsibilities:

Must be professional and safety minded

Perform DOT daily inspections on assigned equipment and fuel equipment as necessary

Drive a fixed route with scheduled pick-up and drop-off locations for passengers

Provide excellent customer service in every interaction

Maintain shuttle van cleanliness

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

  • Must pass pre-employment DOT drug test

  • Able to communicate proficiently in English

  • Able to work independently, yet able to take direction

  • Able to pass a criminal history background check

  • Current/Active DOT Medical Card (Can be obtained during hiring process)

  • Minimum of 6 months of professional driving experience
