Steel Detailer

We are a medium-sized metal building manufacturer specializing in the design, detailing, and fabrication of innovative metal building solutions. Detailers are responsible for making detailed drawings of all building components and assemblies based on building contract documentation, being consistent with manufacturing requirements.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Produce customer drawings: anchor bolt plans, anchor bolt reactions, framing and sheeting plans, shop fabrication drawings (standard and non-standard).
* Compile job specific bill of materials, erection details, and cut lists for bought out material.
* Edit corrections to marked-up shop fabrication drawings.
* Assist in developing and maintaining standard details, drawings, instruction manuals.
* Produce miscellaneous detail and drawing related tasks as needed.

Knowledge and Skills Required For Essential Job Functions

* Associate degree or appropriate experience.
* Working knowledge of engineering software (MBS).
* Strong math skills (geometry and trigonometry).
* Experience with Autocadâ software.
* Basic computer skills (Microsoft® Excel & Word)
* Fluent in the English language.
* Ability to read and interpret plans and calculations.
* Working knowledge of AISC methods used in detailing structural steel.
* Understanding of shop fabrication practices, methods, and knowing limitations of the production department.

Compensation:

* $22-$35 Hourly rate with OT available
