Salary Range: $54,685 to $80,419

Role Description

This is an on-site full-time role for a Water Treatment Operator located in Gulf Shores, AL. The Wastewater Plant Operator will be responsible for operating and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant ensuring all systems function efficiently and according to standards. Daily tasks will include monitoring operations, analyzing samples and make adjustments to meet NPDES requirements. Performing routine plant maintenance and maintaining accurate records of plant operations and performance.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of physical, chemical and biological processes and EPA and ADEM roles and regulations on the operation of wastewater treatment plant.
• Knowledge of basic physics, chemistry, biology and hydraulics sufficient to comprehend the wastewater treatment process.
• Working knowledge of mechanics and electricity to understand the operation of pumps, motors and treatment equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in ADEM Wastewater Grade II required
• Four years of experience in wastewater treatment plant and/or collections. One of the years of experience must be in wastewater treatment plant.
• Physical ability to perform the job duties, including lifting moderately heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions
