Lead Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Supervisor

A well-established food manufacturing facility is seeking a Lead FSQ Supervisor to oversee food safety and quality programs. This leadership role is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, managing a team of quality technicians, and ensuring consistent product quality in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and develop quality assurance staff across multiple shifts.
• Manage and enforce food safety programs including HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, FSMA, and SQF.
• Lead external and internal audits (regulatory, customer, third-party).
• Ensure all documentation related to testing, monitoring, and compliance is complete and audit-ready.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sanitation, and other departments to support quality initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions related to non-conformances.
• Maintain environmental monitoring and allergen control programs.

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field (preferred).
• 5–10 years of progressive experience in food safety and quality assurance.
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing QA/QC or lab environment.
• Extensive knowledge of food safety systems and regulatory requirements (HACCP, FSMA, GMPs, SQF, SSOPs).
• Strong audit preparation and execution skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Certifications and Experience:

• HACCP, PCQI, or SQF Practitioner certification.
• Background in cheese, dairy, or cultured foods manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in production and office environments.
• Standing or walking for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting, bending, or reaching.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $85,000 annually
