The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration’s (CDTFA) Human Resources Bureau has an Associate Governmental Program Analyst position available in the Workforce Planning Unit. Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst performs the more responsible, varied, and complex technical analytical staff services assignments. The incumbent will serve as a Project Coordinator for various projects in support of enrichment and engagement efforts for CDTFA. Projects may include: Employee Suggestion Program, Engagement Program, Exit Program, Mentoring Program, Recognition Program, Wellness Program, EAP Newsletter, or Workforce and Succession Program. The Associate Governmental Program Analyst will independently develop and prepare written reports; review and analyze programs; research complex laws, rules, and regulations; and prepare presentations as requested by management. The incumbent will interact with all levels of CDTFA management and team members to meet workload needs and will serve as the lead person responsible for providing guidance and oversight of projects having department-wide impact. Travel may be required up to ten percent (10%) of the time, which may include overnight.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework/hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week. Schedules are subject to change.

Currently, per the California Budget Act of 2025, all California Department of Tax and Fee Administration salaries are subject to the provisions of the State of California’s Personal Leave Program.

Working Conditions

  • Position is located in a high-rise building.
  • Telework is available fifty percent (50%) of the time.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods of time.

Special Requirements

  • Travel is required ten percent (10%) of the time.
